What is the Starter Pack at Calisthenics Amsterdam
The Starter Pack Calisthenics Amsterdam uses for every new client is a structured four-week coaching phase before moving into a longer-term membership. It is not a trial. It is not a taster session. It is a deliberate four-week coaching phase designed to give you a strong, clear starting point so that everything that follows is built on a solid foundation.
This post explains exactly what the Starter Pack involves, why we use it, what the three options are, and what most clients experience during and after the four weeks.

Why the Starter Pack Calisthenics Amsterdam Uses Exists
Most gyms start new members with a membership. You sign up, you get a key card, and you figure out the rest on your own. If you have a good experience you stay. If you do not you cancel after a few months having made limited progress.
At Calisthenics Amsterdam we do it differently because we have seen consistently what happens when people jump straight into regular training without a proper starting phase.
Technique issues develop and solidify into habits that slow progress for months. Programs are not calibrated to the individual so people train at the wrong level – either too easy to produce adaptation or too hard to sustain. And without a coach watching the early sessions there is nobody to catch the subtle problems before they become ingrained patterns.
The Starter Pack solves all of this. It gives every new client personal coaching time, a clear assessment of where they are starting from, and a program built specifically for them before they join the wider membership environment.
What the Starter Pack includes
Every Starter Pack at Calisthenics Amsterdam includes the following regardless of which option you choose.
Personal training sessions with a dedicated coach. The number varies by Starter Pack option. These sessions are the core of the starting phase. Your coach works directly with you on technique, movement quality, and the specific progressions that are right for your starting level.
Unlimited group training access. From your first day in the Starter Pack you have access to all group training sessions at our gym in Amsterdam Noord. You can train as often as your schedule and recovery allow alongside our regular members. Most Starter Pack clients attend two to three group sessions per week in addition to their personal training sessions.
A physical assessment. In your first personal training session your coach assesses your movement quality across the fundamental patterns – pushing, pulling, squatting, hinging, and core stability. This tells us where your strengths are and where the gaps are before we build your program.
An InBody biometric scan. The InBody scan measures your body composition in detail – fat mass, muscle mass, body fat percentage, visceral fat, and several other markers. It takes about two minutes and gives you and your coach a precise baseline to work from. We repeat the scan at the end of the Starter Pack so you can see exactly what changed over the four weeks.
A goal review session. At the end of the Starter Pack your coach sits down with you to review the InBody data, discuss what improved, and give you a clear recommendation on which membership path makes the most sense going forward.
The three Starter Pack options
We offer three Starter Pack options at Calisthenics Amsterdam. The right one depends on your current fitness level and how much individual coaching you need at the start.
Starter Pack Silver – €249 for four weeks Includes two personal training sessions alongside unlimited group training. Designed for advanced athletes or people who already have a solid training background and need less individual coaching to establish good technique and a clear starting program. This is not the right option for most beginners.
Starter Pack Gold – €385 for four weeks Includes four personal training sessions alongside unlimited group training. This is the option most new clients choose. Four sessions gives your coach enough time to work through the fundamental movements thoroughly, correct technique issues, and build a program that you understand and can execute confidently in group sessions.
Starter Pack Platinum – €495 for four weeks Includes six personal training sessions alongside unlimited group training. Designed for clients who want maximum coaching support in the starting phase – people who prefer a slower and more guided introduction, who have significant movement limitations to work around, or who simply want the most comprehensive start possible.
If you are not sure which option is right for you we discuss it during the free strategy session before you commit to anything.
What most clients experience during the Starter Pack
The first week is usually the most challenging – physically and mentally. The movements that look straightforward on paper require genuine effort to perform correctly. Most clients are surprised by how demanding a properly performed push-up, pull-up, or squat feels compared to the version they have been doing on their own.
The soreness in week one is typically concentrated in muscles that have been significantly underused. The upper back and rear shoulders in particular – because most people have been doing very little pulling work – tend to be quite sore after the first few sessions. This is normal and temporary.
By week two most clients notice the movements starting to feel more familiar. The cues from the first session – shoulders down and back, full range of motion, controlled tempo – begin to happen with less conscious effort.
Week three is usually when something clicks. People notice they are showing up without having to convince themselves to. The habit is forming. Progress in the movements becomes visible – more reps, cleaner technique, harder variations becoming accessible.
Week four is about consolidation and looking forward. The InBody scan at the end of week four gives both the client and the coach concrete data on what changed physically. The goal review session uses that data alongside the coach’s observations from the month to map the next phase.
What comes after the Starter Pack
After completing the Starter Pack at Calisthenics Amsterdam most clients move into one of three membership options.
Group training membership from €167 per four weeks. Unlimited coached group sessions. Access to a personal coach during sessions. Regular InBody scans and goal reviews. The right choice for clients who thrive in a group environment and want consistent coached training at the most accessible price point.
Semi-private training membership from €299 per four weeks. Everything in group training plus semi-private sessions with a small group of two to three people and a dedicated coach. More personal attention than group training. The right choice for clients who want individual coaching focus alongside group energy.
Personal training membership from €349 per four weeks. Everything in group training plus individual one on one sessions with a dedicated coach. Maximum personal attention and the most direct coaching relationship. The right choice for clients who want their program adapted continuously to their specific development.
Your coach gives you a clear recommendation on which option fits your situation at the end of the Starter Pack review. You are not pushed toward the most expensive option – you are recommended the one that actually makes the most sense for your goals and budget.
